An angel walked among us and her name Evangeline. Mary Evangeline Jordan (nee
Boyce), or Vesta as she was often known blessed us on December 10, 1935 and was
called home July 15, 2025.
Born to Amelia Boyce (1985) and Charles Leacock (1993),
in St. Lucy Barbados, she was the 5th of 9. Her brothers and sisters were a treasure to
her, and she kept close bonds with each of them although they resided in different
countries - always making special efforts to visit as often as she could.
She cherished her daughters Verna (Grantley), Ingrid (Mac, 2023), Lorna (2013) and the families they created. A life of joyous splendour, she lived each day embracing the blessings and love of God, in service and humility, and welcomed the adventures that came along the way.
Adventures created and embraced with her one and only Leroy. Theirs is a love story of
over 50 years that formed a home, a life, and the kinds of memories dreams are made
of. His children David (Cassandra), Angela (Fabian), Timothy, and Deighton were all
loved deeply as her own. Grandmother of 13, great-grandmother of 8 and great-great
grandmother of 5, the roots of her tree extend deep and wide and her legacy will live on
through every branch. Faithful child of God, loyal and trusted friend, loving mother,
protective grandmother, devoted wife; though out of sight, Evangeline’s touching
influence will never be out of heart.
Friends will be received at the Accettone Funeral Home (384 Finley Ave., Ajax) on Friday July 25, 2025 from 6-9 pm
And Saturday July 26, 2025 at St Paul's on the Hill Anglican Church (882 Kingston Rd, Pickering, ON L1V 1A8) from 10 am until the time of Service at 11 am
Interment will follow at Duffin Meadows Cemetery (2505 Brock Rd N, Pickering, ON L1X 0K3)
